Documented in England in January 1882

A Sport with Deep Historical Roots

Football Skating is not a new sport.

Historical newspaper records confirm that football on skates was already being played and organised in England by January 1882.

While the origins of the sport may go back even further, the currently available historical evidence gives Football Skating a strong and meaningful foundation.

Today, FIFS continues this history through structured international development across FUTINS, RollerSoccer, Ice Football Skating and Freestyle Football Skating.

FIFS is also working towards the long-term international development of the sport through its vision for 2030 and 2035.
