University Development

Expanding Football Skating Through Higher Education

Introduction

Federation International Football Skating (FIFS) believes that the long-term growth of Football Skating must include strong development within universities and higher-education institutions.

University environments offer one of the most important platforms for structured sport growth, student engagement, athletic development, leadership formation, and long-term international expansion. For this reason, FIFS is committed to supporting the introduction of Football Skating into university sport systems in different countries and regions of the world.

The federation believes that universities can play a major role in shaping the next generation of Football Skating athletes, organizers, referees, coaches, and international leaders.

A Strategic Direction for University Sport

At this stage, the official calendar for a dedicated university-level world championship has not yet been finalized. However, FIFS has already identified university development as a key strategic direction for the future of the sport.

The federation aims to establish stronger interaction with international university sport structures and university-based sport environments so that Football Skating can gradually enter the wider university-sport ecosystem and create meaningful opportunities for student participation, institutional cooperation, and competitive development.

This vision is not limited to a single event. It is part of a broader long-term plan to make Football Skating more visible, more accessible, and more professionally organized within academic communities worldwide.

Building University Teams Across Four Disciplines

FIFS is working toward a future in which university teams can be developed across the four official disciplines of Football Skating:

  • FUTINS
  • RollerSoccer
  • Ice Football Skating
  • Freestyle Football Skating

The long-term objective is to create an environment in which universities can form official student teams, participate in organized university tournaments, and ultimately become part of future international university-level Football Skating events.

This would help expand the sport into a new and highly important level of participation - one that connects education, athletic performance, youth development, and international visibility.

University Affiliation and Official Recognition

FIFS welcomes universities that are interested in becoming part of the global Football Skating structure.

Universities that wish to introduce Football Skating within their sport systems may apply to become affiliated members of the federation. Through official affiliation, universities can become part of the wider international Football Skating network and position themselves within a growing global sport with strong future potential.

This official connection helps universities move beyond informal participation and become recognized contributors to the long-term development of the sport.

Education, Support and Team Development

FIFS aims to support affiliated universities not only through recognition, but also through development pathways that help them build real and sustainable Football Skating programs.

This includes support related to educational direction, introduction to the sport structure, coaching and refereeing pathways, certification support, development systems, and the gradual preparation of university teams.

Through cooperation with the wider FIFS system and its educational framework, universities can be supported in building student teams that are better prepared, better structured, and more closely connected to the professional standards of the sport.

The long-term intention is to help universities move step by step from introduction and affiliation toward education, team development, and future participation in official university-level Football Skating competitions.

A New Platform for Student Sport

Football Skating offers universities a modern, dynamic, and highly engaging sport that combines movement, skill, creativity, teamwork, and international identity.

Within university environments, this creates a valuable opportunity not only for competition, but also for youth culture, student engagement, institutional branding, and athletic innovation.

FIFS believes that universities can become powerful centers for the expansion of Football Skating and can help introduce the sport to new generations of student-athletes in a meaningful and organized way.

Invitation to Universities Worldwide

FIFS officially invites universities, university sport departments, student-athlete structures, and higher-education institutions around the world to join the Football Skating system and become part of its future.

Through affiliation, education, certification, and long-term cooperation, universities can help shape the next phase of Football Skating's international development.

The federation looks forward to building strong relationships with universities that share the vision of creating student teams, supporting structured growth, and contributing to the future of Football Skating at an international level.

A Long-Term Academic and Sporting Vision

University Development is an important part of FIFS's broader mission to build Football Skating through real structures, not temporary visibility.

By expanding the sport into universities, the federation is helping create a stronger pathway between youth development, higher education, official affiliation, and future international competition.

This is how Football Skating can continue to grow as a serious, modern, and globally connected sport - with students and universities becoming an important part of that future.
